Reminder of what we need to accurately prepare your tax return.
Required Items
- All W-2's and final paystubs
- All 1099Int & 1099Div showing interest/dividends earned
- All 1099B's reporting stock sales along with purchase date and cost info
- All 1099DA's reporting sale of Digital Assets
- Bank account info for direct deposit, No more paper check refunds
- All K-1's from any partnerships, LLC's, LLP's or estates
- Settlement sheet for any real estate purchases, sales and mortgage refinance
- All 1099's reporting unemployment, self-employment, social security benefits and state tax refunds
- All 1099's for retirement distributions, IRA's, pensions, annuities, rollovers
- IRA contribution Form 5498, both Traditional & Roth IRA's
- All 1098 forms showing mortgage interest & property taxes paid
- Form 1098E showing student loan interest
- Property tax payment receipts if not escrowed by mortgage company
- Receipts/summary of all medical co-pays including premiums if you are not covered by an employer plan
- Form 1095-A, B or C showing health insurance coverage. If you have insurance through the Marketplace will need Form 1095A to reconcile advance payments or claim the Premium Tax Credit.
- Date and amount of each Federal, State and Local estimated tax payment, remember three payments are made during the tax year and one is made in January of the current year
- Childcare providers name, address, federal id# and total amounts paid per child for the Dependent Care Credit.
- Form 1098T showing Tuition paid to all post-secondary schools along with college name, address & federal id#, along with receipts of payments made to the college/university
- New dependents full name, date of birth and social security #
- If you qualify for Earned Income Credit we need proof that your dependent children live with you (statements showing matching address)
- Copy of at least one prior year tax return (New clients only), two prior year returns if self employed
- PA residents - 529 contribution information, unreimbursed work expenses (union dues, supplies, uniforms, licensing)
- NJ residents - NJ BEST contributions, NJ CLASS principal & interest payments, any NJ college/university tuition payments, plus Info regarding household members that did not have health insurance coverage at any time during the year
